（中央社記者江今葉布魯塞爾18日專電）歐洲自由暨民主聯盟黨團主席范巴倫今天表達了對民主進步黨總統當選人蔡英文的祝賀之意，也認為這次的選舉是強化台灣民主的重要一步。

對於民進黨在總統與立法委員選舉的勝利，范巴倫（Hans van Baalen）在聲明中表達誠摯祝賀。

他表示，這次的選舉標誌著台灣民主的強化邁出重要一步，歐洲自由暨民主聯盟黨團（ALDE Party）一致認為，台灣人民應該決定自己的未來。蔡英文很清楚傳達她將會是有建設性的，也將繼續維持現狀，大陸方面與國際社會應該完全尊重台灣人民的選擇。1050119
